This work represents a pushing ahead toward making a more complex surface through the use of line and color. I began with a simplified grid of numbers inspired by boat registrations. I then chose to play with the small boat shapes from a previous series, linking them together continuously through the piece using different drawing and painting tools. i had no idea where it was heading which is different for me as I frequently work from a sketched design. I enjoyed this process and the use of a more quiet analogous color scheme rather than a strong intense color palette.
