The various kinds of greens and blues on a brightly lit summer day are the subjects for this piece. I am contrasting the darks of the far shore evergreens with the backlit edges of a stand of trees on a little island. The long horizontal format allows me to show the breadth of shoreline while bringing a sense of deep space across the water. I have used bands of fabric as a design foundation for this work. Notice the horizontals that run through this work bringing structure and a sense of abstractness to the lakefront landscape.
