Unframed, paper and paint collage. In an effort to think about how to dispose of outdated calendars I made, I explored a recycling solution which makes new art by collaging printed images of my outdated calendars. The paper was strong and images rich in color. I cut out the 7x7 art images from each of 12 months, cut again into quarters, then randomly selected 4 different segments placing them on a heavyweight stock. I then glued them into a new 7x7 collaged image, and let them dry. These 12 random images were then developed into new compositions incorporating parts, covering over other with paint, and adding textures until the 'new' image was satisfactory to me. Hope you enjoy this recycled work.
