Pinks! Early this winter of 2025 I just threw caution to the wind and began this piece based on a small 5x7 sketch I had done in 2024 as I was rehabbing from shoulder surgery. Those sketches were done lefthanded which gave a definite loose quality to the sketch. I tried to figure how I could accomplish a similar feeling in a much larger piece such as this 36x48. I enjoyed the curves and rectangular shapes and how I needed to figure a way to make them work together in the landscape. The idea of being neighborly though being quite different from one another has been an underlying idea in much of my work. Shades of both reds and blues are a bit of a nod to how simple it could be for people to respect one another and honor their differences.
