As I recover from shoulder surgery I am using my left arm to do most of my paintings. The large movements are working out well yet small details are a bit difficult. This has moved me toward work that is less fussy and more colorful with larger shapes to design with. I began this piece with random mark-making in the background to build an underlayer of color to respond to when I add later layers. Here I'm using imagery I commonly use but handle them in a transparent manner which allows the underlayer to show through. Hope you enjoy this new view.
