This painting has quite a history of iterations. It is one of the largest works I have done 60x40, and it needed many adjustments to design, color and texture before I was satisfied that I had resolved it in a way that would be both engaging and calming. In this iteration I have lightened the overall color palette to allow the fish houses to be prominent as well as the people in the doorways. You can feel free to make up your own narrative about the elements I have included to find your own sense of connection to this imagined environment.
